More complete analysis shows that the figure is closer to 60% on average,
peaking at over 75% on occasion (YMMV). Not saving them would be a
substantial savings _if_ it is possible to know ahead of time that a
particular position isn't going to be visited again. That's not trivial,
but even a complex routine would still be a win because it'll save "a
heck". Now I have to generate the numbers for Seahaven.
