Situation: you can store one million positions in the transposition table,
200 bytes for each position. To malloc them individually would cost extra
time, and also would waste space because of malloc's bookkeeping bytes and
possible power-of-two overhead. Until several months ago my solver malloc'ed
everything at startup. Now it acquires that space 100000 positions at a time.
It never did it individually because I knew it would be inefficient.
Therefore can't know how much time/space was saved.
