position of the cards by rank is just the beginning of the story.
i'd have your program look for single-color columns (all black or
all red cards) and almost SCCs as well. i'd have it look for
position of same-color pairs, such as both red 7s at the top of a
column or even buried in two different columns. and as to the
position of cards by rank, it's not just having a low king that
creates difficulty, it's what's buried underneath the king (aces or
very low cards).
