Many thanks! I was able to play it now in PySolFC and it appears to be a
correct solution. I still don't know exactly how I was able to miss
the ability to populate the QS in column 1, but I guess it's OK. I had some
difficulties in working through the standard notation solution, which I still
think is sub-optimal.
