Danny is correct in using only real freecells to do supermoves (multiple card moves using both freecells and empty columns). It's absolutely my intention that ephemeral frecells can only be used once, even if only for an instant to move a group of cards.
Most importantly, since supermoves usually use each freecell more than once, it's generally impossible to use ephemerals. For example, the classic four-move supermove (using one empty column and one freecell) doesn't work if the freecell is an ephemeral one, since you need to use it three times and it's going to vanish after the first use.
I am working on support for playback of solutions (including ephemerals) in the new FreeCell Virtuoso program, but it's not fully working yet.
