Relaxed means that a group of cards in correct sequence can be moved as a unit from one column to another (empty, or occupied if the joining card matches correctly), regardless of how many freecells and empty columns are available. This is a standard rule in the solitaire variant Penguin, and many people also play this way with zero freecells.

Another option which might be included is Worrying Back, which allows cards to be played from foundations back to columns or freecells. Analysis by Tom Holroyd indicates some deals impossible under standard rules can be won with this optional rule. I haven't heard of any other solvers with this option.
