Please forgive if this is a repost of an earlier post.
There are pruning operations that are guaranteed to not conflict with solving a game/deal. However, there are also pruning operations that don't seem to conflict with solving a game/deal ... even though the pruning operations can't be guaranteed.
Consider the following scenario of moves involving a single card.
...
58 move 4S (by itself) from column [5] to empty column [8]
...
8c move 4S (by itself) from column [8] to freecell [c]
...
c1 move 4S (by itself) from freecell [c] to empty column [1]
...
I refer to this as moving a single card, multiple times, to empty columns. I finally decided to test the first 10M games/deals to see if this was ever necessary. Apparently, it isn't. So, you can add pruning for this scenario and know that it won't impact the solvability in the first 10M games/deals.
