Hi all,
First of all there is a new release of black hole solver:
https://github.com/shlomif/black-hole-solitaire/commit/34dce8b05dcffae8e3983034f33c0077d46ea71e
I also published a verifier for Golf solutions:
https://metacpan.org/pod/Games::Solitaire::Verify::Golf
Otherwise I've done some work on the
https://fc-solve.shlomifish.org/ site
sources at
https://github.com/shlomif/fc-solve/tree/master/fc-solve/site/wml
, converting them from wml (=
https://github.com/thewml/website-meta-language )
which is slow and not too popular to jinja2 (=
http://jinja.pocoo.org/ ) which
is faster and more popular. However, I grew to dislike jinja2's handling
of scoping and have second thoughts of using it for my other sites.
Nevertheless, along with parallelisation, the site now rebuilds faster (from
over 2 minutes to 1m30s).
Another improvement is converting the summary-fc-solve (
https://github.com/shlomif/fc-solve/blob/master/fc-solve/source/summarizing_solver.c
) to store sequences such as 126, 127, 128 ... n-1, n, compactly using
start/end slots instead of as separate indices. We also unify consecutive
sequences so both
./summary-fc-solve seq 200001 $(( (1 << 33) - 1 )) -- -mi 5000000 -l lg
and
./summary-fc-solve slurp <(seq 1 100000000) -- -mi 500000 -l lg
use little RAM for the deals indices, but note that the first one starts faster.
I decided that the next release will build and install the "dbm" solvers
because they have been "experimental" for too long.
Finally note that we got the fc-solve and black-hole-solver test suite's
dependencies packaged for
https://getfedora.org/ linux's rawhide and the tests
pass on all of its supported
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_architecture including x86-64, i686,
aarch64, armv7hl, s390x and ppc64le. This may indicate that the code is indeed
portable.
Regards,
Shlomi
